Planet Delicate Laundry Wash

Directions for Use

Hand Washing:  Measure one capful of Planet Delicate Laundry Wash for every liter/quart of cool or cold water. Immerse your garment in the water and work up a rich layer of suds. Gently squeeze the suds through the garment for no more than five minutes. Rinse thoroughly in cold water and roll garment in a clean, dry towel to remove excess water.

Machine Washing:  Measure 1/4 cup (4 tbsp.) of Planet Delicate Laundry Wash for a small load. Set your washing machine to gentle cycle, cold water. Allow the water to mix with the detergent and then add your garments. When the cycle is complete, remove your garments right away to minimize wrinkling.

Drying:  Lay sweaters on a flat surface to dry. Hang blouses on a plastic hanger. Some garments can be tumbled in the dryer on air only setting (no heat!). Avoid drying garments near heaters or in direct sunlight.

...about laundry pH?
Most regular laundry detergents are alkaline, which can damage natural fibers like wool and silk. Planet Delicate Laundry Wash is specially formulated with a more neutral pH so that you can clean your fine washables more safely.

Cleaning Tips

  • To test if a garment is colorfast, dip a cotton swab in a weak solution of detergent and water, apply to a hidden area (such as an inner seam), and let dry. Compare the color consistency of the dabbed area with the rest of your garment. Proceed with washing if there has been no discernible change in color.

  • It is better to pre-treat stains on delicate fabrics directly than to leave your garments soaking in a detergent solution. To pre-treat, create a one part Planet Delicate Laundry Wash, one part cool water solution. Dip a cotton ball into the solution and use it to gently dab at the stain -- rubbing too hard can cause fading or loss of shape. Wash your garment right after pre-treating.

  • Avoid wringing your delicate wash garments, as it can cause stretching. You can safely use the spin cycle of your washing machine to remove excess water instead.

  • A garment's care label is the best guide on how to clean it. Following the care instructions will help you achieve the best possible cleaning results. Reading the label is an especially good idea before washing an article for the first time!
